Restaurants
There are many restaurants in the town providing good food and service, a few English owned and also the town has a pizza house, a chicken takeaway, a Chinese and two Italian restaurants.
ARMACAO DE PERA
For those wishing to take a quick and economical lunch we recommend the following restaurants to choose from. The restaurants named below all offer a ‘Prata do dia ‘ menu for between 8 – 10 euros per person which includes a three course meal, wine, or beer or soft drink and coffee
A RAMPA
Located in the village of Porches, just 5 minute drive from the villa along the EN125 heading West, turn left at first roundabout you come to, Up the hill to first left, and first left again, down the hill and turn right to park. The restaurant can be found just by the small alley way between the houses and the restaurant. Good food and very friendly service and also good for a dinner venue.

TI TERESA
Only 4 minutes drive from the villa. Turn right out of villa to end of the road, turn left on the EN125 and the restaurant can be found on the right hand side about 100 yds. Very busy restaurant during lunch times, so advise getting there earlier than 1pm. Dish of the day menu varies each day with a good selection of typical Portuguese dishes.

DOIS IRMAOS
Same directions as for Ti Teresa, but another 500 yds further down the road and on your left hand side – Pink building above the pottery shop. New management offering good selection of daily dishes. Price only 8 euros per person for 3 courses and a drink. Great for lunch.
RESTAURANT DONA HELENA
Located on the way to Alcantarilha, turning left onto the EN125, straight over the roundabout and turn right into the Industrial park with Bricomania on your left. 80yds down on the left Hand side is the restaurant. Ample parking and a fantastic selection of good local and Portuguese wines. The selection of ‘Prata do dia’ though is limited to 2 – 3 dishes per day. Currently Priced at 8 euros per person. Good atmosphere with a bistro feel.

ROCHA DE PALHA
Luis has run this very busy open beachbar restaurant for many years. Located near the red house towards the old part of town, it offers good quality food at very reasonable prices. You will need to be early to ensure a table of your choice. All outdoor tables with aluminium wind breaks.
O’SEROL
A few doors down from Hera and overlooking the sea, this restaurant is very popular with the local villagers. Traditional Portuguese food with daily specials menu, friendly service and always very busy. Mainly indoor with a few tables available outside during the peak season.

CLIPPER
Located on the sea front in Armacao de Pera. Offering an excellent fish and meat menu and an extensive dessert menu. The restaurant also offers exterior dining for the warmer months. Only necessary to book during August.
PORCHES
O’LEAO DE PORCHES
A beautiful converted 17th century farmhouse in the centre of porches. Mixed European menu and interesting wine list. Cosy atmosphere, ideal for the special occasion.

PORCHES VELHO
Situated in the centre of the village, this converted winery offers traditional Portuguese food. Tables are also available on an upper exterior terrace providing lovely views of the Monchique hills. Fado music on Fridays & Saturdays. Closed Monday/ Seating for 100.

O ALAMBIQUE
Located near the train station at Poco Barreto on the road leading from Silves to Algoz. Marlen Schmid the Chef/Proprietor offers a menu with a difference. Nice atmosphere and food excellent. Closed on Tuesdays – Mar – Oct – Pre-booking advisable

SILVES
RUI’S
Seafood at it’s best. This splendid restaurant offers an outstanding choice of fresh shellfish, a superb selection of Lobster and Crab, and the speciality is a remarkably good fish rice. A favourite with all the restaurateurs in the Algarve. Advisable to book - 282 442682 Noisy and expensive- but worth it. Not really suitable for young children.
